
Leona Louise Lewis, born 3rd April 1985 is an actor as well as a singer and activist born in Britain. Born and raised within the London Borough of Islington, she was a student at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis was an international star after winning The X Factor's third series in 2006. The singer also signed a PS1 Million recording contract from Syco Music. Her winning song, a cover of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This", peaked at #1 for 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke the world record for 100,000 digital downloads in only thirty minutes. Clive Davis' label, J Records, signed Lewis to a 5-album deal in February 2007. Lewis continued her success by releasing Spirit the first studio album. It reached platinum status 10 times over certified in the UK. The album was the fourth album to be sold in the 2000, as well as one of the most popular UK albums. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the top-selling debut album from female singers to date in the 21st century. The number one single in the UK, Bleeding Love, remained at number. one for seven weeks and then became the biggest-seller of 2007, in the eyes of the Official charts company. In the US it was also the most-seller single of 2008 , and Lewis was named Best New Artist by Billboard that same year. In 2009, she dropped her second studio album, Echo as well as recorded the song that served as the soundtrack, "I See You", for the film Avatar. Lewis also came out with "Collide" in the year 2011, in a collaboration in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii. The album also came out as Hurt an EP that was her debut extended play. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis her three studio albums. It was an exciting new musical direction. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep as well as electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013 when she began to record material to create her first Christmas album. The album Christmas, With Love was released in late 2013. Its lead single, One More Sleep, reached the top spot within the UK. Lewis, a British solo female artist was the first female artist to reach the Top Five with eight singles. The record is higher than Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
